Buying: A new car! Yes, indeed I bought me a brand new car! It's a fun new Rav4, and I am loving it. I figure if I have to commute 30 minutes to work everyday, I may as well enjoy the ride! Check me out lol!
Trying: To make freezer meals. I got a new crock-pot recently. One thing good about friends getting married - sometimes they get 2 of something and give you the extra. ;) Anyway, it's really cool and has a timer and everything. See?

I'm trying to get some recipes together from pinterest (like THIS) and recipe e-books (like THIS) and make lots of freezer meals before school starts. This way I can just put it in the crock pot in the morning, set the timer, and come home to deliciousness. Plus, it makes meal planning super easy!
Speeching: Decorating and organizing. I went up to school the other day and all of my shelves, drawers, and boxes were stacked on top of my cubbies (I couldn't even reach them!). My materials and desk items were all in total disarray and shoved on top my counters. Gotta love summer floor waxing! Anyway, it's been an adventure trying to rearrange and get everything down. Hope I can get it all finished before the kids come Wednesday. :/

Lauren, thanks for linking up! We have very similar lists. I love your new car! Students start on Wednesday? That seems so early! Ours start Aug. 26.

Yes, teachers go back Monday and students start Wednesday! Crazy early! And thanks! I love my new car too :)
DeleteFun! We need a new car, but we're waiting a bit b/c not having a car payment is awesome! I LOVE my crockpot and use it at least once per week. My fave recipes are the easiest ones...
ReplyDelete1. Chicken breast halves, salsa to cover, squirt of lime juice and sprinkle of taco seasoning. Cook on low 8-10 hours. Shred. We make chicken fajitas/tacos, quesadillas, and nachos.
2. Chicken breast, cover with chicken broth, (optional: add 1 stalk celery and chunks of onion). Cook on low 8-10 hours. When it's done, remove the chicken and discard everything else. Shred the chicken. You can add mayo for chicken salad, bbq sauce, buffalo sauce, etc.
Happy Crocking!
Thanks SO much for the recipes, Carrie! I love trying new things, especially with chicken! :) I'm hoping these freezer meals are worth all the work. lol :) And it is nice not having a car payment. Hang on as long as you can!
DeleteI just got a new car this summer - Toyota Camry! It was hard to give up no car payments, but my old car was sooo unreliable. Congrats on the purchase! I also love crock pot chicken tacos like Carrie posted above. I've heard you can even make bread and desserts in the crockpot. Enjoy!

Oh don't you love a new car?! I had my Corolla for 11 yrs so it was time for a change. It's so fun having an SUV! And I'm going to have to try baking in the crockpot. I've only done main dish type things so far. Thanks for the tip!
DeleteCongrats on the new car!! How exciting! And I love my crockpot. Makes life so much easier :)

Thanks Carissa! I'm loving my new car AND my crockpot! :)
DeleteYay for a new car! I also adore my crockpot!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I heart my crockpot too!
DeleteCongrats on the new car!! It is beautiful. Have you named it yet? LOL!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Thanks! And yes I've named her "Eleanor the Rav4". Lol! She replaced Lola the Corolla ;)
DeleteGreat car! I have the same model in red. :) It's definitely a joy to drive but my favorite thing about it has to be the space. I used to drive a Camry, and while I had no problems with its handling, I appreciate more space and power with the Rav4 for when I go on road trips. -Prince @ Lexus of Ann Arbor
ReplyDeleteA Rav4 for a 30-minute ride to the office? Who wouldn't flaunt such car, anyway! It feels great to finally be able to purchase a car, out of your own hard work, doesn't it? You deserve this one, Lauren! Congrats!

You got yourself a truly nice car! It's spacious to accommodate your groceries, and even the whole family. And with a car that efficient, you would definitely enjoy all your drive to work and to all other places you need and want to go to. Congratulations!
